The Safety Management System (SMS) course provides participants with an in-depth, operational understanding of Safety Management Systems in aviation, with emphasis on:
– Fundamental safety concepts and their evolution in the aviation context.
– ICAO SMS requirements for government and supplier safety programs.
– Differences between traditional approaches to safety and SMS.
– Major components of an SMS, including policy, promotion, risk management and safety assurance.
– Roles and responsibilities of operators within an SMS.Emergency preparedness and response processes
